Hello!

My name is Sofiya and I’m the founder and creative force behind Windflower. To me, wedding flowers play a crucial role in setting the atmosphere and overall aesthetic for the day. I love the way flowers decorate and fill a space. Besides their beauty, flowers have a way of expressing of love, joy and connection.

My floral journey began in 2020, but the seed of this passion was planted long before, nurtured by the beauty of nature that surrounded my childhood. Growing up in a rural area, I spent my days outdoors, lost in the wonder of blooming gardens and wildflowers. When my parents immigrated from Ukraine to Canada, my mother embraced her love for floristry by pursuing formal education in floral design and opening her own shop. She has been my biggest inspiration and her artistry, airy, natural style has profoundly shaped my own creative vision and style. 

After university, I found myself drawn back to her shop, where I began to discover the magic of floral design. With my mother’s 25 years of experience as my foundation, I eagerly soaked up her wisdom while also seeking out workshops and classes to expand my skill set.

Each arrangement I crafted felt like a piece of my heart. Designing brought me peace. I felt free, like the wind. I noticed my style reflected this, so what better name than Windflower — a tribute to the gentle, whimsical nature of blooms swaying in the breeze.

I truly have a passion for wedding florals. I find immense joy in collaborating with couples to bring their dreams to life, transforming their ideas and colour palettes into breathtaking floral narratives. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching a vision bloom into reality. My favorite moments are spent curating colour palettes and designing arrangements that align perfectly with the couple's aesthetic, filling every space with flowers that speak volumes. 

At Windflower, I approach each project with love, considering every detail—from the overall vibe of the wedding to the unique elements that make each couple’s story special. My goal is to create something that not only enhances the beauty of the day but also resonates deeply with the couple’s vision and emotions.
